Vintage Boot Hill Nightclub Gillette Wyoming T-Shirt Screen Stars 80s
Gillette calls itself the Energy Capital of the Nation, and it earned the title the hard way. Belle Ayr started production in 1972, Eagle Butte followed before the decade was out, and low-sulfur coal from the Powder River Basin began moving east by the trainload. Boomtowns need somewhere to spend the paycheck, and Boot Hill became that somewhere — the local paper still calls it Wyoming’s largest nightclub.
This one came off a Screen Stars blank with a single needle at the hem, printed for a night out in a coal town in the 1980s. The graphic has worn the way bar shirts wear, which is the only honest way for a bar shirt to age.
Nightclub merch rarely outlives the nightclub. Nobody archives it, nobody reprints it, and the shirts that survive do so because someone kept wearing them long after the last call they commemorate.
Worn out on a Saturday, kept for forty years.
