Vintage GE Aerospace Camp Shirt Colorblock Steady 90s

Martin Marietta closed on GE Aerospace on April 2, 1993 — $3.05 billion, 37,000 employees, around twenty sites changing badges at once. The purchase nearly doubled the buyer. Two years later, on March 15, 1995, Martin Marietta merged with Lockheed, and the name embroidered on this chest had been folded twice before the decade was out.

This was never a retail garment. Shirts like it were ordered in bulk and handed out inside the company — an internal promotional piece carrying the division’s name, made on a Steady blank and never sold to the public.

Aerospace work ran on clothing like this. Golf outings, plant picnics, service anniversaries — the shirt that marked twenty years on a program nobody outside the fence could talk about.

The company was sold. The shirt kept the name.
