Vintage Delta Airlines Cintas Crew Vest Black Blue 90s

This is a working garment — a Delta Air Lines crew vest issued through Cintas, the uniform contractor that outfitted ground crews, gate agents, and airline staff across the country through the 90s. The “Delta Collection by Cintas” tag identifies it as company-issued gear, worn on the tarmac and at the gate as part of the job, not bought off a shelf.

The construction reflects that purpose. A nylon shell over a fleece lining kept crew warm on cold ramps and windy jet bridges, while the full front zip, stand collar, and ribbed cuffs and hem sealed out drafts without adding bulk — sleeveless by design, so it layered easily over uniform shirts and never restricted arm movement during baggage handling or aircraft servicing. The blue and black colorblocking mirrors Delta’s corporate palette from the era, instantly recognizable to anyone who moved through a major hub in the 90s.

The ACTWU tag is the detail worth knowing — the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union label confirms this was made domestically under a union shop, a manufacturing standard that’s essentially vanished from mainstream apparel production. Made in USA, union made, and built to survive a shift on the ramp: this vest did a job long before it became a collectible.
