Vintage Hey You! Skate This! T-Shirt 80s
The shirt talks to you in two parts. The sleeve gets your attention — a hand pointing straight out at the viewer inside a triangle, “HEY YOU!” underneath. The back delivers the rest: “SKATE THIS!” in a neon yellow-to-orange gradient, set in a black box lined with that scattered-confetti pattern that turned up on everything from Trapper Keepers to diner countertops in the late 80s.
That layout wasn’t an accident. Vintage skate tees followed a near-universal formula — small print on the chest, big print across the back — for the simple reason that a skater is usually moving away from whoever’s watching. Collectors call them the original mullet shirts: business up front, party in the back.
Everything here is period-correct to the design moment: Memphis-style squiggles, fluorescent gradients, a taunt rather than a logo.
A shirt designed to be read by the person you just rolled past.
