Vintage Lady and the Tramp Disney T-Shirt Deadstock 80s
The original tag on this one didn’t survive — it was cut out and replaced with a “Comic Relief” label, meaning the shirt was rebranded and resold through a comic shop or specialty retailer rather than moving through a Disney Store or department store rack the way most character tees did. The graphic itself is the famous spaghetti dinner scene from Lady and the Tramp, printed on light blue: Tramp and Lady nose to nose over a shared plate, candle burning in a wine bottle, red-checkered tablecloth below the “Lady and the Tramp” script logo, marked “© The Walt Disney Company.”
Licensed merchandise in the 80s moved through far more channels than official retail — before licensing enforcement tightened up in the 90s, small shops routinely picked up overstock or gray-market tees and stamped their own tag over the original, turning a mass-market Disney shirt into house-branded inventory. That swapped tag is a small paper trail of exactly that kind of transaction.
And because it’s deadstock, this one never got the chance to make that trip at all — it’s been sitting since the day someone decided a comic shop, not a department store, was where it belonged.
