Vintage OP Redi Mix Cement Truck T-Shirt 80s
Ready-mixed concrete is newer than most people would guess. Some sources put the first delivery as early as 1913, in Baltimore. By 1929 more than 100 plants were operating in the United States, and the industry didn’t really take off until the 1960s. The result is the truck everyone on a job site recognizes: a cab up front and a striped drum on the back, rolling to the pour.
Most ready-mix outfits were local companies, and this shirt is one of their tees. It belongs to OP Redi Mix. The truck is drawn cartoon-style, with oversized tires, a big chrome grille and OP REDI-MIX on the drum. It’s parked in front of red and yellow stripes, and the chute swings up behind the logo with a few flecks of concrete flying off the end.
A hometown concrete company, delivered on a T-shirt.
