Vintage Southfork Ranch Ewing Mansion Ringer T-Shirt 80s
The most famous house on television in 1980 was a real house in Parker, Texas. Joe Duncan built it in 1970 on land he called Duncan Acres, about 25 miles north of Dallas. From 1978 to 1989 its exterior stood in for the Ewing family’s Southfork Ranch on Dallas.
1980 was the year the show went from a hit to a national obsession. The season ended on March 21 with J.R. Ewing shot, and the question of who shot J.R. hung over the summer. The answer aired on November 21, 1980: Kristin Shepard, his sister-in-law and mistress. An estimated 83 million Americans watched, a 76 percent share of the audience.
This shirt carries a 1980 Lorimar Productions copyright, licensed by Southfork Ranch. The mansion sits inside a round painted scene, with white columns, a double porch, topiary trees and a black rail fence across the lawn. Above it are the SF brand and a Southfork Ranch arch, and “Dallas, Texas/USA” runs beneath. It’s printed on a white ringer with black trim at the collar and cuffs.
