We’re Always Buying Vintage Clothing
Hey there — I’m Patrick. Mary and I run Thriftstore Cowboy Clothing, a vintage clothing shop in Terre Haute, Indiana. We’re always buying old workwear, denim, band tees, and Americana. If you’ve got pieces taking up space, we’d love to take a look.

What We Look For in Vintage Clothing
Era
Pre-2000s preferred. The older and more clearly vintage the better.
Condition
Honest wear and fading is fine. We pass on heavy staining, missing hardware, tears, and strong odors.
CONSTRUCTION
USA made, union labels, single-stitch tees, chain-stitched denim, metal hardware.
SIZES
Men’s M–XL preferred. Jeans waist 32–36, inseam 30–34. Flexible on great pieces.
QUANTITY
Single standout items welcome. Lots and collections get priority response.
Not Sure What’s Worth Selling?
Take a look at our Nostalgia Gallery — it’s a collection of some of the greatest pieces we’ve found and sold over the years. If your stuff looks anything like that, we want to hear from you.

Common Questions
How do I know if my vintage clothing is worth selling?
Check the labels and tags. Brand names like Levi’s, Carhartt, Wrangler, LL Bean, and Filson are usually a good start, especially on items made before 2000. Union-made labels, single-stitch construction, USA-made tags, and well-worn-in cotton are all signals of vintage value. If you’re not sure, send us a few photos and we’ll tell you.
What brands do you buy?
We focus on vintage workwear, denim, western wear, band tees, and Americana. Our top brands are Levi’s (vintage), Carhartt USA-made, Wrangler western wear, LL Bean (vintage), Filson, and similar. See our full buying list above for the complete rundown.
Do you buy modern Carhartt or Levi’s?
Generally no. We focus on vintage and pre-2000s pieces. Modern Tractor Supply Carhartt or current Levi’s from a department store usually aren’t a fit for what we do. Older pieces with USA-made labels, union tags, or distinctive era construction are what we’re after.
How much do you pay for vintage clothing?
It depends on the brand, era, condition, and current market. We pay fairly for items we can use, but we’re a resale business — we need room to clean, photograph, list, and sell each piece. If you’re hoping to get full retail resale value, you’d likely do better selling on eBay or Poshmark yourself.
Where do you buy vintage clothing?
We’re based in Terre Haute, Indiana and buy locally throughout the Wabash Valley. We’ll travel within about 50 miles for larger collections. We also buy from sellers in Bloomington, Indianapolis, Vincennes, Danville, and Paris.
Do I need to ship my items, or do you meet locally?
We meet locally for cash or Cash App. No shipping required. We’ll arrange a public meetup spot once we’ve reviewed photos and made an offer.
What’s the difference between selling to you and consignment?
We buy outright. Cash on the spot, no waiting for items to sell, no consignment fees. You bring us the clothing, we make an offer, you walk away with money the same day.
How fast do you respond?
We respond to all inquiries within 24–48 hours. Most local sellers hear back the same day.
What if I have a large collection or estate?
Larger collections get priority. We’ll travel further than 50 miles for the right collection, and we can handle whole closets or estate estate clothing — just the clothing, not furniture or household items. Send us a brief description and a few overview photos to get started.
Can I sell vintage clothing if I don’t know what I have?
Yes — that’s most of our sellers. Snap a few photos showing the brand tags and overall condition, and we’ll tell you what it is and whether it’s a fit. No pressure either way.
