Size & Measurements Guide

Sizing can vary wildly across decades and brands—especially in vintage clothing. That’s why we always recommend using measurements, not just the tag size.

How We Measure Shirts & T-Shirts

Lay your shirt flat on a table or bed. Then:

  • Chest: Measure straight across the shirt from armpit to armpit

  • Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder (near the collar) straight down to the bottom hem

These two measurements give you the best sense of how a shirt will fit compared to what you already own.

How We Measure Pants & Jeans

To get the best fit, lay your pants flat and take the following measurements:

  1. Waist: Measure across the waistband and double it

  2. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem

  3. Leg Opening: Measure across the bottom hem of one leg

  4. Rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the waistband

How We Measure Jackets, Coats & Sweaters

  1. Chest: Measured flat from armpit to armpit

  2. Length: From the top of the shoulder near the collar down to the bottom hem

  3. Sleeve Length:

    • For standard sleeves: from the top shoulder seam to the end of the cuff

    • For raglan sleeves: from the collar seam straight down to the cuff

Fit Tip:

Outerwear is usually sized to allow for layering. If you’re between sizes, check the chest and shoulder width to determine whether it fits snug or roomy.
