Size & Measurements Guide
Sizing can vary wildly across decades and brands—especially in vintage clothing. That’s why we always recommend using measurements, not just the tag size.
How We Measure Shirts & T-Shirts
Lay your shirt flat on a table or bed. Then:
-
Chest: Measure straight across the shirt from armpit to armpit
-
Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder (near the collar) straight down to the bottom hem
These two measurements give you the best sense of how a shirt will fit compared to what you already own.
How We Measure Pants & Jeans
To get the best fit, lay your pants flat and take the following measurements:
-
Waist: Measure across the waistband and double it
-
Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem
-
Leg Opening: Measure across the bottom hem of one leg
-
Rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the waistband
How We Measure Jackets, Coats & Sweaters
-
Chest: Measured flat from armpit to armpit
-
Length: From the top of the shoulder near the collar down to the bottom hem
-
Sleeve Length:
-
For standard sleeves: from the top shoulder seam to the end of the cuff
-
For raglan sleeves: from the collar seam straight down to the cuff
-
Fit Tip:
Outerwear is usually sized to allow for layering. If you’re between sizes, check the chest and shoulder width to determine whether it fits snug or roomy.
